The Taste of Amherst

18 Jun

I was a bit hesitant about checking out the local restaurants taking part in the annual Taste of Amherst festival, but so glad we went.  Everything we tried was great, the beef wrap at Moti, everything at Nancy Jane’s, Sibbies may be my favorite dough in town right now, the Indian restaurant with some great treats and that outstanding Lassi, not to mention the great small town atmosphere and bumping into lots of old friends.  Wow, great time, maybe I will swing by again tomorrow.

Amherst Farmer’s Market

22 May

The Amherst Farmer’s Market at the town common every Saturday is small, but not to be missed.  This is a place where the locals can come and see each other while supporting local and organic farmers and growers.  I enjoyed everything from the solar powered stand with organic yogarts, to all the plants, flowers, and fresh organic vegetables. Make sure you make time to stop by on Saturday mornings.  By the way, the leaks we picked up from the Amherst Chinese owner’s organic garden were a perfect addition for our dinner tonight. Can’t wait to see what we find next time.
